Bank of England

Virtual tour

Gym

Our on-site gym is fully equipped, and has two exercise studios where aerobics, spin and Pilates classes are run throughout the day. We also have a 32-acre sports club in Roehampton, with facilities for tennis, swimming, football, cricket, hockey and rugby.

Restaurant

This is where many of our staff have lunch each day. As well as being a sociable environment, the restaurant also promotes wellbeing through its provision of healthy food options.

Coffee Bar

Our coffee bar and deli provides informal surroundings to conduct meetings during the working day.

Information Centre

The on-site Information Centre provides excellent research facilities as well as a quiet environment to focus on a piece of work.

Health Centre

A health centre in the Bank’s vault includes a medical unit and a dental facility, meaning it is quick and convenient to make appointments during your working week.

Entrance

The Bank moved to Threadneedle Street in 1734 and gradually acquired adjacent premises until the present three-acre island site was secured, and Sir John Soane’s massive curtain wall was erected round it. This still forms the outer wall of the Bank.

Governor’s Garden

A small oasis in the heart of the City, the central garden at the Bank floods the building with light and helps create an open atmosphere.

Old Banking Hall

The Old Banking Hall architecturally captures the spirit of the Bank as an organisation, perfectly creating a light, modern working environment within a traditional setting.

Conference Centre

Our state-of-the-art conference facilities host events that range from top-level press conferences to internal training days.

Markets Office

There’s a tangible buzz in our Markets Office. The division is involved in every aspect of the Bank’s work, and supports both monetary and financial stability.
