Introduction
We want to make your application to the Bank an enjoyable and informed process. This page is designed to give you an insight into our selection procedures to enable you better to prepare for and perform well at all stages.
We expect all applicants to the Bank to have an understanding of what the Bank does, such as knowing and understanding our Core Purposes. Information on the Bank can be found on our website www.bankofengland.co.uk. In addition, we also expect all applicants to be able to demonstrate their motivations for wanting to work for the Bank.
For all roles you can expect to be questioned on your specialist technical knowledge. For entry level roles this may be more theoretical but for experienced professionals will be a thorough assessment of your skills.
At all stages of our selection process and for all levels of recruitment, we assess your skills and experience against certain competencies which will be key to your successful performance, whatever role you are applying for. These are:
- Technical and Bank knowledge
- Analytical problem solving
- Communication (written and oral)
- Interpersonal awareness
- Confidence and assertiveness
- Drive and determination.
