Bank of England

First degree graduates

We recruit first degree graduates from all disciplines onto our graduate programme. We offer the unique opportunity to work at the heart of the economy in a dynamic and constantly changing environment, while constantly developing new skills.

We accept applications from September to November each year for appointments commencing the following October. We will open for applications for placements commencing in 2009 from September this year.

From the outset your work will have a significant impact. You will be involved in varied and challenging activities, such as critical information gathering, analysis and reporting that enables the Bank to meet its obligations. You will take part in meetings with internal clients (including the various policy-making committees), contribute to reports and make presentations to senior members of staff.

All new graduates join our award-winning Analyst Career Training (ACT) programme (‘Best Graduate Development Programme’ and ‘Best of the Best’ 2008 Association of Graduate Recruiters awards), which is designed to provide you with the experience, skills and attributes you need to succeed as an expert analyst in the Bank. The Bank’s culture encourages personal development and you are expected to proactively assist this by moving between business areas and roles in order to broaden your experience.

Above all, we provide the opportunity and support for you to unlock your potential and perform well in a highly motivating and professional environment.
